Snarling when performing tricks

by Karen
(USA)

My Gracie is an 11 year old Coton who has always loved to perform her tricks for treats. Lately when I go through her routine ("Wag Your Tail", "Sneeze"yes, she sneezes on command, "Roll over" etc) when I get to "give me your right" "give me your left" she curls her upper lip like she's snarling and reluctantly gives me the appropriate paw.

Why would she suddenly start doing this, and how do I correct this behavior? She has now done this on several occasions.

My very first thought was it must hurt now. I would certainly consult the vet. I would love to see a video of the sneeze. Too Cute!

Pain? NEW

Is it possible his paws hurt him? If it’s a new behavior, I’d have his vet check him out%
