Recent barking and hearing loss questions

Gracie our Coton is 11 yrs old.she has just started barking at nothing. At the door or out the window. Sits there and sometime just growls then barks. Getting her to stop is crazy sometime.

She also has lost a bit of her hearing from loud hair driers (fluffers) 6 weeks ago but it is coming back. They put cotton in her ears and little cap. However we are now asking after the fluffier she goes into another room so not to stay in there.

Has anyone had these two problems?
We are taking her for grooming tomorrow and seeing what they use.

Barking at something NEW

Dogs don’t usually bark for no reason, but sometimes it’s hard for us to figure out what the issue is. Since she’s 11 years old and is just now starting to bark, my first thought was what has changed in her world? Was there a recent move, did someone leave, is she in pain or not feeling well? If she’s having hearing loss, this can cause her to have some anxiety since dogs rely on their senses and she may be feeling vulnerable or confused.

I would suggest a vet visit to rule out any physiological issues.
