Rescue dog who I think may be part Coton, see what you think!

Just adopted Penelope form a local rescue society in Waco, she was originally from Austin. I was told that she is part long-haired chihuaha and Dachsund, but I have never seen either of those kinds of dogs with the silky coat that she has - what do you think?

Tall Coton? NEW
by: Anonymous

I have one and it could easily be one with a longer body and legs than standard CdT, the coat is definitely Coton.

Rescue Dog NEW

Hi. Penelope sure is a cutie. Love her coloring. She does resemble in shape and face our long haired dachund we had when I was young, Gretchen. She had black and brown silky hair - she was beautiful. Her face looked similar to Penelope's. Cotons have a cottony texture to their hair. And it is my understanding their tails always arch over their backs. We have a Coton and a Havanese, and they look very similar with the exception of hair texture. Our Coton also has a longer nose and her eyes look like she is wearing eyeliner.

Penelope could be a mix with a Coton and a Dachund; but no matter, she is beautiful and deserves a lot of love and attention. You can get a DNA test to confirm her breed mix. Good luck and a life of happiness and love.
