my 7 month old puppy does not eat much of what I put down. I mix wet with dry and she manages to separate the two and eat only the wet

Fussy eaters NEW
by: Anonymous

We treat our coton and our cat with the same strategy. Feed them what they like and then change brands. Believe it or not, the vet said animals DO get tired of eating the same thing repeatedly. So it is important to mix it up now and then.

We've given out coton Zignature, Ol' Roy, Nuturo, and other wet foods only for her to want things to be changed up eventually. The fellow at the pet store said that dogs in the wild can last a day without eating. I didn't know that. Just sharing that information with you.

If you are worried about your puppy's eating habits, just do a search on the web. You will see that they are fussy eaters and we humans just have to deal with it. We've given our coton (and cat) expensive and cheap food. We let them take the lead. That's what works best for us and they are both healthy.

coton eating habits NEW

Think we all coton owners realize after a while that our dogs are fussie eaters. We use nutro and started with lamb and rise, then chicken, latest is salmon with brown rise which he
seems to like for now. We even put a little ground round in with his food for awhile. Seem to be a night eater sometimes.
Sooner or later he eats, we just leave it out and some time during that day he eats. So far salmon and brown rice is working. Switching between lamb and salmon seem to be our
best option. It is a constant worry, but Higgins is healthy and
a very happy boy. He is now 20 months old. Good luck.
