Why won’t my 1 yr old coton’s ears stay down

My 1 yr old coton’s ears will not stay down. Wondering if maybe I let his hair grow longer over his ears if that would help. Is this something that goes away or is it just the way it is.

Flipping Ears NEW
by: Sharon and Jasmine

Jasmine's ears would flip back every now and again. At her last visit to the groomer they cut her ears shorter and now they flip a lot more. So I would say the length of her ears has a lot to do with it. I am letting Jasmine's ears grow longer so no more flipping.

Coton's ears NEW
by: Pat

My little girl Rhylie's ears flip over all the time. I just turn them back the right way. I think it's just a trait of the Coton. It doesn't bother me. She's such a cutie!

Need clarification about ears NEW
by: Anonymous

When you say your coton's ears stand up, what exactly do you mean? Can you send a picture? When you bought your coton, did either of the parent dogs display this? Just curious.
