flying with a coton NEW
by: Marcia

Just got back from flying to New York and back and it turned out just fine when we went out we kept her in the bag but on the seat next to us. the check in person said she would put us in a three seater so she could be put under the middle seat but we never did and no one said anything , she was scratching a bit but gave her small treat to keep her busy. she seemed fine when my husband carried her so she knew he was close by.
On the way back it was a dream. we walked her for 45 min in the park and then when we got to the airport we relieved her right before we got on the plane. She sat next to us on the seat with the top open and slept most of the way. part of the time she crawled out and looked out the window then got back in her bag and slept the rest of the way home.
The flight attendant said nothing about putting her under the seat although i understand now that there is a fine if you are caught having your dog out. don't know if that is true.We fed her very early and limited water and took an afternoon flight when she normally naps and not so crowded. All in all a great success. She is 12 1/2 lbs and was in a large Sherpa bag.

Sherpa bag sizes NEW
by: Marcia

Thanks you for your comments. Gracie is too long for the medium and she hits the AA specs but not guaranteed. I heard it all depends on the flight attendant. Wish us luck with the larger one which is only 2 in. Longer but I think much better for her.

Traveling with your Coton NEW
by: Isobel

We took our Coton Mazie on the plane last summer and used a medium Sherpa. Mazie is 10 lbs and long but she was still able to turn around in it. When I booked the flight the airline was very strict about the bag dimensions, however, no one at the airport or on the plane questioned us. Not sure how well a larger bag would fit under the seat. She was a gem to travel with even though our flight was delayed

Sherpa Bag NEW
by: Donna

If the larger one can fit under the seat and be sure the measurements are good for the airline yo are flying. Larger would be great as you will have room as your Coton grows?! Hope this helps.
