What are some other known Coton websites?

Dr. Robert Jay Russel, PhD

I found a wonderful website this morning. It is under "Biographical Sketch of Jay Russel,PhD. His website is Net Pets. This leads u to not only dog info on grooming, but to foster care for vets, disaster relief, animal library info etc.

Dr. Russel is the person who imported the 1st Cotons to the US in 1974 & created the Coton de Tulear Club of America in 1976. He started the Oakshade Kennels in New Jersey.

Another fact I discovered this weekend was originally the Coton de Reunion was one of there 1st label names since they were 1st discovered in the Port of Reunion.

Also another fact is that the native hunting dog that was added to the Coton breed was the "Morondava". This is probably where there love for water originally started.

Coats that reflect the hot sun from our pets
by: Vicky & Jonah (Az)

Last week at an agility run here in Px. Az. I saw many of these "cool" coats on the dogs to beat the heat. All I talked to spoke very highly to their use. I went to www.horseworks.com & in their search engine put dog cool coats. They have some on clearance for $20. Thought some might be interested.

The Coton de Tulear Grooming Book
by: Suzan

The name of the book is How to groom a coton de tulear the Right Way By Doreen Schipper
the price is $19.99 and you can buy it on amazon.com. This book really helped me and the groomer who never groomed a coton de tulear. The groomer had years of experience grooming but now she has another notch on her belt and understands why a coton de tulear's hair has to be cut and groomed a certain way. I think this book will help all pet owner's of a coton de tulear and the groomer's who groom these beautiful dogs. I hope this helps all those out there who can't find a grooming book specifically for coton de tulear's.

What is the name of the book & author? It would be nice to have all info in one place. Does it recommend any particular products to help with maintaining their coats for easier combing? Thanks for the info.

Coton de Tulear Info on grooming a coton
by: SUZAN

I purchased a book on amazon.com and did a search on coton de tulear dogs and a few books were available I did purchase a book from amazon on how to groom a coton de tulear it was very helpful to me and the person who grooms my little Cotton(that's her name). Amazon.com is safe to use I purchased many different items from there. You pay much less then you would if you purchased it from a bookstore. The book is well worth having as far as I am concerned because I found many groomer's haven't heard of a coton de tulears never mind how to groom one. I figured it was in my dogs best interest to let the groomer read the book on how to groom this type of dog.My groomer was very appreciative for this because she got 5 new customers who had coton de tulears and when they asked if she knew how to groom a coton dog of course she said yes. If you check out amazon.com you might find more info on this breed. Good Luck!
