Wet or dry food
by: Iris

PS Our experience with wet or canned dog food was not good. At first Tuffy liked it, but his bowels didn't he had runny poop. That's why I stick to the dry food and the Natural Balance roll. His digestion is better and stools firmer.

Dry dog food amount to feed
by: Iris

The dog food package tells you the amount by the age and weight. Start out with puppy food for the recommended length of time. Make sure there is always a bowl of plenty of fresh water next to his food bowl. There are two schools of thought about how to feed them, either remove the bowl after they eat and replace it for the next feeding, or, as I do, leave it there all the time for him to eat when he's hungry, since he rarely would pig out. Tuffy weighs less than ten pounds, so he's not getting fat from having too much food. All dogs have different appetites. My dog is a grazer, and a picky eater. I put a cup of IAMS with probiotics in his food bowl and sometimes it takes him two or three days to eat it all up, then sometimes he gets up in the middle of the night hungry (just like a man) and eats what's left in his bowl. Tuffy also gets other food during the day, freeze dried liver treats, sometimes some canned tuna or boiled chicken, it varies. I also put a chopped up thin slice of Natural Balance Lamb roll on his food in his bowl. That's the only flavor his stomach tolerates, the others give him messy poops, not great with long white hair! Good luck and I hope this helps.
love and licks, Tuffy and mom
