First kayak adventure

We have a five month old and he is incredibly smart and affectionate to all of our family but extremely shy around strangers and has been that way since the day we brought him home. We are working with a trainer and trying to socialize him as much as possible. I’m just very surprised in researching the breed they seemed like very friendly dogs. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this quality?

Keep doing what you are doing. Remember despite their great personalities, they are very small animals, our coton was 3 lbs when we got her. They are cautious when everything around them is giant. Take her for daily walks, she will slowly get used to people

I have 2 litter sister's and they are shy of ne2 people when they first come in but if the person makes a fuss kneeling down and in a light voice greeting them they soon come round
