She doesn't like any dog to come into the house

Bella came to me when she was 5 yrs old with all her papers since the day done was born. Bella was spayed I believe when she was about 4 yrs old which is noted in her papers.

She Seems to be good when I walk her in the park and she sees other dogs, but she doesn't like any dogs to come to the house. She really is nasty and shows her teeth. But on the whole she is wonderful with my husband and I and we love her very much. She is extremely attached to me, so much so when I come home from grocery shopping she greets me like I have been gone for years.

My family cannot bring their dogs over and it upsets me. HELP

no dog in my house NEW

This would be upsetting. Do you take her to others house? If so, is she friendly and able to play with their dogs? Perhaps if she made friends with them she would be more receptive when they came to visit her.........She probably feels the need to protect you from all others. Its her house and she wants to rule.

My cotton is very protective of me, especially around men but she has always welcomed other dogs. Hard to know what they think but I would try taking her to others houses. If you already have done that what about crating her for awhile when they first get there and let them play and interact with you, or keeping her on a leash until she gets more comfortable with them.

Good luck hope you can find a solution. Training classes might help but I know they behave differently when on their own turf.

How does she act when she's at the dog park when she is off lead with other small dogs. Does she play, venture out & walk around the area or just hang by your side. If she hangs by your side if you get up & walk around does she follow you around.
