Re: Adult coat from puppy coat

I have recently bought a 5 month old Coton from a showing breeder. I groom her every day and would like to know when she gets her adult coat will she be as easy to groom as her puppy coat. I presently spend about 15 minutes brushing and grooming her every day, and intend to do the same with her adult coat. I just wondered if her adult coat will matt more even if I still brush her 15 minutes daily?

thank you.

Coton Coat NEW
by: Anonymous

My coton is 6 years old. She has a very heavy coat. I have her professional groomed every 6 weeks and I brush her most every day. I found that it was not enough with her long, thick coat, so I keep her at a much shorter length now. It works out well, and she is much happier.

Coton coat NEW

Our Coton is almost 8 years old. We bathe her once monthly and have her groomed every other month. This really helps eliminate the matting. However, she does still need to be brushed regularly.

Coat transition NEW
by: WRM

We also went from easy to hard and now back to easy after the puppy coat to adult coat transition. The secret of getting trough it is consistent daily or multiple daily brushing and combing. Our Coton is 20 months and still has a few mats despite the above
