Question about neutering

Will my 18 month old boy's personality change after he is neutered? Will he continue to be the same playful and silly boy he is now? Also, someone told me the texture of his coat will change after he's neutered. I'd hate for him to lose his soft, fluffy coat.

If you do a search on this site, you'll see where this has been asked and answered before. Here's an example page that may help (although, there are valid opinions on both sides of the issue).

In my experience, I didn't see any negative behavioral or physical reactions to my dog(s) being neutered.

I don't know why we didn't get any replies to my original question about neutering. There are 2 schools of thought on it, for and against. I was hoping to hear some personal experiences from Coton owners. The Coton is such a special little breed. I wish we would have gotten some responses.

I'm hoping to get some answers too. I was also told to wait until he my boy was between 10 months and a year old. I have been on the fence about doing it because I read articles that are not in favor of neutering. I thought I'd reach out to other Coton owners because they can share their personal experience with neutering their boys. He is the sweetest and funniest boy. I don't want that to change.

I’m thinking about having my puppy fixed as well. I was told to wait until she’ about 9-10. months so the hormones can help strengthen her bones. I’m also hoping it doesn’t change her personality, she’s very bubbly. I’m following, hoping someone will answer your questions as I’m interested in knowing.
