Playful coton

Will an adult coton still behave like a puppy, playful and overly friendly with people and other dogs.

Ny coton is 7 months old, but likes to play with all the dogs and children we meet on our walk.

I notice older dogs are not interested. Will an older coton mellow down, or still be as playful.

Thanks.

Jasper playful in the grass with kids
by: Leslie

I adopted Jasper from a shelter when he was between5-6 years old. He will not play with toys at all but he loves playing outdoors I keep him on a leash mostly but he gets his paws and front legs down and really wags his tail. He also likes to play like a jump bluff he is so cute with that. He has a bad leg so he limps a lot and so we do not go one super long walks. He loves to run and play. He would play inside I think but not with toys. Good luck.

playful coton
by: sherry cotton candie

Mine to still loves her playtime but I have noticed she does not run as long as she used to. She is almost 4 now and our daily chases around the couch are getting shorter. (thank goodness as i'm not getting any younger either,lol).........she still wants to play fetch for long periods of time.

As for being friendly that seems to have changed. When she was a puppy she loved everyone but the last couple of years she has become more standoffish.......We adopted a rescue then and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. She is just very protective now of me and especially around men will growl and bark if they come close.

On walks or malls, stores etc. she is fine but not at home or in the car. I try to quiet her but she will not listen. We usually take her outside when we have repairmen or such in the house. I have no doubt that she would try and bite. Not good but she is such a dollbaby most of the time. We adore her and are so lucky to have her. I just figure she is being our protector.

I notice most of the older dogs in stores are kind of shy as well.
She likes attention and we have had her in assisted living places and she loves everyone there, wagging her tail and enjoying the petting she receives. Only at home is there a problem.

Playful coton
by: Cathy & Jasmine

Jasmine is just as playful as the day I got her. She is 5 1/2 years old and still loves to play. Always ready to play, I'll tell her to go get her silly sock or her water bottle toy - Rudy she will run and go crazy with them. When I try to sleep in and she is wanting to play she will get any toy and start to toss it around the bed room trying to get my attention. I hope she stays like this for ever!

Playfulness never ends

My 5yr old Coton still thinks most other dogs, and all humans are there just to play with him. He's always ready to play.

Playtime.
by: beany's mom.

My three year old mail coton is very playful. He thinks evenings are his time to play with me and it's hard to find time for me to read or do my things. He loves doing tricks.
