New Male Coton... Names???

Hi All,

I have posted several questions on here before and wanted to share with you our exciting new addition to our family. My husband and I are so excited to bring this little guy home on December 8th but in the mean time are trying to come up with a good name for him. Any suggestions on what to name him? Looking forward to reading your thoughts!

My sweetheart boy will be 3 on Sept 17, 2019. I knew when he was born that he’d be a real sweetie so I chose a strong name to off set his cuteness unfortunately I don’t think it worked. His formal name is Sir Percival but we all call him ‘Percy’. Needless to say he’s adorable & his name suites him.

I feel Thomas or Tommy (for short!) - that's how I feel when I see him, very sweet and very adorable boy!!!

I love the name Luca. It's male and European and just different enough. No nickname required. You are so lucky to be getting that little sweatheart. Best wishes.

I don't remember where I read it, but there actually is a science to dog naming, and the names they respond to easiest, I think it was with a letter t ie: Spot , Tye, and the shorter the better. an eee ending works best like "puppy" sounds. Good luck. That's a very sweet pup you have.
p.s. I named my dog for the kennel club papers "Tuff Guy " Coton. I call him Tuffy. If he didn't look so "girly" I would have named him something else. Everyone still says, how cute, what's HER name. I say HIS name is Tuffy! lol

Hi, he is just so adorable, when I have a boy one he will be called teddy or shadow that is course if males have the same temperament as our Fifi who just loves cuddles and human companionship.

He is ADORABLE. I always learned that for training purposes it good to have a short name or nickname. Jonah was named when I brought him home at 6 months so I just kept it. Our granddaughter called him Jo Jo for the clown on Disney. He answers to both. Good luck on ur choice. Whatever name u choose I'm sure will be great.

When we got JR they had named him Yoshe - and he took to JR immediately. Try a few names on him and see what he wants to respond to. By the way Jr is because I'm Joyce and my hubby is Robert. It works for us. Good Luck - they're a true treat to own.

Hey...I have a 8 month old male Coton. His name is Sparky Dexter Buttercup...let me explain the long name...lol. My son is 6 yrs old and ever since he turned 3yrs old he's been asking for a puppy and that he was going to name him Sparky (which is the reason why I got a male, I wanted a female). I got my Sparky from a breeder who had named him Dexter and once he came home I said what the heck, let's throw in buttercup in there too...lol. We call him Sparky...lol. I plan on getting a second and if it's a boy I already have a few names i am thinking of like Fluffy, Polo, Lucky, Dusty, I can go on and on...lol.

I Googled "names for cotons" and found a lot to chose from. Hope that helps.

Our little female pup was born on December 5th. She will be a year old in a few short weeks. I posted on my facebook wall just as you have done here. The name we picked is Pixie. Hope you have as much luck as we did. Good Luck with your new pup and make sure to take the time to enjoy his adorable antics. FYI Pixie especially loves cat tunnels to play in and on.
