Millie

I have a little Coton, she was 7 months yesterday! she's the best little pup ever so playful and easily trained! But there is this one problem, whenever I leave the room and the door is closed , she always has an accident, this worries me as she is fully house trained and barks if she needs outside to do her business!

Have you tried closing the door & then immediately opening it again every time a little longer until it does not become such a big deal that the door has closed.

This also works if you are leaving the house with your purse keep grabbing your purse & pretend to leave coming back so they get tired of making such a big deal about it. Good luck

My dog has separation anxiety, I have to leave the bathroom door open a crack or he has a nervous breakdown. It sounds like you pup is a bit fearful. Take he out to pee before you leave and praise her, give her treats. Let her get used to you going out the door and coming right back in, tell her "I'll be back" or "wait here" . My dog had puppy training at the Pet food store so he understands "sit and wait"and other commands. I can take out the trash and he waits, but if I leave in the car and come back later he goes berserk! I tried the separation lessons like ignoring his anxiety until he calms down but it makes him more frantic. I have to hold him and let him kiss me and we calm down. He's six years old and that's how it's been since he was six weeks old. If someone else stays home and keeps him company it's not quite that bad, but it's still mommy he worries about. Good dog. Love my Tuffy.

separation NEW

Could it be separation anxiety ? My pup is great in every way but does have separation anxiety. He doesn't make a mistake in the house but he does get into mischief if I leave and he gets over excited when I come back. It takes a while to calm him down.
