We had a dog trainer point out that we were inadvertently rewarding our dog when he acted out in jealousy. We'd give him extra attention and he learned that jealousy equalled more love and attention. The trick is to ignore the jealous behavior and reward when he's not acting jealous. It took a lot of time, but it worked!!!

Jealous DogNEW by: Sharon
My Jasmine is the most jealous dog I have ever seen. She can't stand it if I even speak to our cat although she seems to kind of like him. She will actually push him out of the way if I am trying to pet him. If I call the cat, she will go after him and "herd" him over to me. If I give him a treat, I better have one for her too. If other neighborhood dogs are around, she has to be center of attention to their owners. It is kind of comical. But she is a real attention seeker and no one is to come before her!
