How can I help my dog who is afraid of noises?

My Coton, Romeo, is very scared of noises thunder, fireworks etc He shakes all over! It’s gets really bad. Any suggestions on what to give him. The vet wanted to sedate him with medication and I said No ! Any help would be greatly appreciated.


My other question is what do other parents feed there Cotons? Romeo is very picky. He’s tired of Blue Buffalo unless it’s real food on top of it and then sometimes he still won’t eat.

IDK the same thing with Lacey I hold her and comfort her. It seems to work. Also I give Lacey Purina. It has been around along time. So I trust it. I give her the skin sensitive dry food with their can lamb food. She loves it. Good luck.

My Coton also gets nervous with loud noises. I always say "It's OK" "It's OK" and hold him and that seems to calm him down. This breed does have anxiety issues.

As for food, I now use Halo all natural wet and dry food and he absolutely loves it. Unfortunately, it is pricey.
