My 9 month Coyne has a habit of growling when my grandchildren hold him he has even at times tried to bite, and once he actually got through to the skin. This really worries me. I don't know what to do. Otherwise he is a happy, good dog.He also uses growling to communicate. He is constantly barking the moment he hears the slightest little noise. Even when my son comes home.once he knows who it is he can't stop humping up, and down with glee.

We adopted our coton at age 3 and she growls at everyone but me. She particularly growls at other people she sees when we go for walks. How do we stop this?

Buffy is 22 months and has just started to growl at me when I move her over so I can get into bed. She lays against my pillow and doesn't want to be picked up. She doesn't bite just growls.

It's just their wierd way of communicating. We adopted 10 mo old and at evening time, he did the meanest growl and unbeknownst to me, he was disciplined. To this day, I feel bad about the experience. They never lose the instinct.
