Dribbling small amounts of urine.

My 4 month old Coton is pretty well housebroken. We take him out very regularly. In between walks (which happen just about every 2 hours), he often leaks a small amount of urine on our carpet. He has not had a full on accident in weeks! Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Urine NEW
by: Vicky & Jonah (Az)

4 months is pretty young 2 hve full control of blatter but if dribbling it means they hve 2 pee. Now I know sometimes we open the door 4 them 2 go out & they don't go so maybe since u think it may b time 2 go out put a leash on & take out 2 back yd 2 pee.

One good thing at doing it this way is if u take them 2 the same place in the yd u r now teaching them where u would like them 2 go in the yd so u have all the poop & pee in 1 place instead of numerous places in the yd.

dribbles NEW

I would say this is not that unusual. Cotton will soon be three and she does it now and then. Usually when really excited about hide and seek or when we come home after leaving her. First thing before greeting her she has to go outside.

Sounds like your puppy is doing well with the training, congrats on that. They are just such a wonderful companion. Wishing you many happy years together.

Don't worry NEW

My girl is 2 1/2 now but she had the same problem. It was well resolved by 6 months although she did occasionally dribble with excitement. That took a little longer... probably by a year. Good luck.
