Do some Cotons have "freckles"?

My white Coton has all these large freckle-looking, round, light yellow splotches all over his skin. Is this common?

Oh yes....it is a surprise that under all that white fluff are big colorful skin spots.when Bentley is wet....he looks like a short Dalmation! He is 5 yrs old and has some spots in his coat on his back that ate always in his coat....the other spots just ate on the skin but don't change the surface coat color....such a puzzle these little Cotons!
