Coton skin

by Arlene Baker

I adopted my Coton from a rescue. She is 19 lbs, and has pink skin with brown patches on her skin (not hair, the cottony hair is all white). Other than her weight being more heavy than I see 'normal' - she fits all other descriptions. Do other Coton's have that pink skin with brown spots on the tummy?

Black spots on skin NEW
by: Gary

Our first Coton puppy started developing black spots on her tummy at age 9 months. She has them now on other parts of her body, which are more visible after her short grooming last week. It sounds like this is normal for the breed, based on the above comments. Is that right, at least in your experience as owners?

Our Mr. Pip has brown splotches on his tummy, too. He is healthy and a ham.

Pink skin NEW
by: Pam and Lacey

Yes, cotons have pink skin with black spots. I also understand there are different types of cotons. The bigger cotons like my Lacey are malagasy. Looks like your sweet coton is the same. I love my Lacey and am so happy we have her.
