Constant licking

by Holly
(Burlington, NC)

Though we thought it was initially sweet, my 4 year old Alex, licks incessantly. He licks people, the air, couch, car seat...whatever, wherever he may be.

Does anyone know why he does this and how we can tone it down?

Brady loves to lick NEW
by: Dale

Brady is a licker and from the comments here this must be a thing with Cotons. They are very bright and a gentle but firm no is usually all it takes to get him to stop. The licking almost seems like it is a relaxing thing for him and I hate to tell him to stop. Sometimes it gets to be a little much for guests and furniture.

Hugo has recently started licking the furniture. He has always licked me but I am not sure how to get him to stop. Any suggestions?

Our Frank likes to lick---particularly nose openings--I just gently move him away and it works

My Rhylie Girl Licks, too. NEW
by: AnonymouPats

My puppy, Rhylie, does the same thing, too. I don't know what you could do to get your dog, Alex, to stop licking. I don't mind Rhylie doing it. She is such a sweetheart always trying to give kisses. Maybe just keep reminding Alex to stop. I know my dog is a quick learner and maybe Alex will pick up that he needs to stop licking everything and he will. Good Luck!
