Another Coton de Tulear Dog Food Question

by Kathy

I have Triscuit on Innova dog food. That is a very good product, but she continues to want her sister's Pedigree Large Chunks (not a good food). I give her a few of the Pedigree with her food, but she will eat that and not her food.

...Sometimes she will eat her own dog food, but still wants the other... My question is will a dog eat when she is hungry? Should I not give her any Pedigree at all? I don't quite know what to do - I don't want her to get malnourished.

Good food for my Coton
by: Barbara

I choose a food that has no corn, gluten, soy or wheat. The first ingredient must be a meat - I choose Chicken. I have fed Castor & Pollux Organix which is very good but pricey. I am now using Ultra adult by Nutro and the number 1 ingredient is chicken. I buy it at Tractor supply. Obi Want also sees the cats and outside stray getting canned food so I got him some cans of Grammy's Pot Pie (no corn, gluten soy or wheat) from Tractor Supply and add a little to his food. He loves the combination! We feed him twice a day and he sleeps thru the night. Stools are good. I also watch the ingredients in his treats, NO wheat or corn! Obi Wan is 20 mos old, so adorable and we love him.

If Pedigree is not a good food, why are you feeding it to your pet?

As for the Coton, sometimes you have to try several foods before hitting on the one he will eat. And make sure there are no wheat or grain allergies.

But as for him preferring the chunks, they probably taste better! If you made one child eat spinach and the other cupcakes, who would want what the other had?
