What type of bed does your Coton de Tulear like to sleep in?

The are so many different varieties of beds, I was wondering what others find that their Cotons prefer for over night sleeping.

He seems to get hot at night, so we bought a Cool Bed, it's like a water pillow. Just put it at bottom of bed. He loves it.
PS. I also lay on it, when I have a back ache. It's awesome

When he was a puppy, he refused to sleep on his bed. So I took him to puppy store, laid out 5 different beds in aisle. He walked on each one. He picked out one, now he sleeps in it all the time. We bought him 2, one for each floor

Hi there

My 2 year old Tucker has 2 beds in the kitchen, one in the corner and one in front of the gas fireplace. He loves both, and during the really cold nights I find him right in front of the fireplace. That's when I know when he is chilled. I wanted him to sleep with me, however, all he was doing was jumping around and wanting to play at all hours of the night, so out he went back into kitchen lol.

Wendy, congrats on your new Coton. My dog, Luc also prefers sleeping under the bed or on tiled floors instead of comfy furniture. Would love to see photos of Bobby!

got bobby a few months ago,,, he is a very easy little dog,,, easiest i have ever had,, got him at five months and from the first night he just went under my bed, he seems to like it,,, even tho a bed is offered,,, he then gets into the little bed we provided during the middle of then night and in the morning he stands up to come up, so i pick him up and he lays there until its time to get up,,, in the day he sleeps on hard floors or under a table in another little bed provided,, he will get up on couch but doesnt stay long he gets down and is happy to be around,,, we didnt buy a new bed for hm, its a cat bed that our cat didnt us that is by my bed and a bed my daughter gave us when we got him,,, that her dog didnt use,,,,,, bobby fits right in, first owner couldnt keep him, due to university offer ... it was meant to be, will post a picture of hm when he gets his first groomers session next week... his coat is curly at the moment,, i thought he was perhaps a bichon or a cross but when we took him last week to the groomers they say he is defo a coton, it was a good christmas gift, as i had hoped he was....(this is my first post, i have been looking on here on and off since i lost a dog last summer)

Della will sleep anywhere during the day usually on top of the air vent or outside on the driveway. During the night she sleeps on the bed and will not move throughout the night we can put our legs right on her and she will not budge. She also loves to steal all the pillows and push them out of her way then wedge herself between them. It seems no matter what we buy for her she just ends up using it as a storage space. I love her little quirks. She also loves to clean her little day den and will literally move everything out of it and rearrange then lay down it is very funny I love this breed!

Connie goes to sleep on the bed, and then we put her on her bed, in her open top fabric crate. In the morning she is lifted from her bed, taken to her puppy pad, and when she's emptied her bladder, she comes back onto our bed!

IT IS AMAZING WHAT THESE LITTLE DOGS LIKE!! COTTON HAD ALWAYS SLEPT IN HER BED OR UNDER MY NIGHTSTAND NEXT TO MY SIDE OF THE BED UNTIL WE WENT ON VACATION. TO MAKE HER FEEL MORE AT EASE WE ALLOWED HER TO SLEEP WITH US, GUESS WHAT! YOU KNOW HOW THAT ENDED, WE DO NOT MIND ALTHOUGH SHE GETS RATHER PUSHY AND SHOVES US ALL OVER WITH HER STRONG LITTLE BACK LEGS, SOMETIMES SHE WILL JUMP DOWN AND GET ON THE BATHROOM TILE, MOSTLY SHE IS ON OUR BED.

HER BED IS NOW JUST A TOY SHE PULLS AROUND AND WILL STACK HER NIGHT TOYS IN.

WHATEVER SHE DOES IS FINE, LOVE HER!!

TRISCUIT LIKES TO SLEEP ON MY QUEEN SIZED BED WITH A MEMORY FOAM...SHE LIKES A PILLOW SO SHE CAN FLIP IT UP AND OVER HERSELF.
ALSO SHE WILL SLEEP ANYWHERE, DURING THE DAY. DOG BED, CRATE, HARDWOOD FLOOR OR RUG....AS LONG AS SHE IS WITH ME.

Barney sleeps in his crate at night where he has a "sheepskin" mat. During the day he seems to prefer sleeping on cool tile floors. He has a few "beds" scattered around the house, but he, too, thinks of them as toys and tries to chew and toss them around! Occasionally he will curl up in one and take a snooze- but not too often!

We purchased 4 beds for Spanky... which one did he prefer? an old pillow we had just laying around... LOL! And the best part is is lay's half on and half off of it! We keep the one tiny bed in his crate... but mostly he lays on his pillow.

Ours also sleep wity us - but we have beds with memory foam and they seem to like that also. They also LOVE our love seat - they both lay on it during the day - one on either side of the love seat. Good Luck

I think getting a bed depends on your Coton's personality. How does he sleep? On his side, curled up. If you look online, they recommend certain beds for how dogs sleep. Unfortunately, my Coton sleeps in his kennel at night. I bought him a nice expensive bed and he prefered wrestling it and chewed a hole in it. :( I will never buy him a bed again! When I am gone during the day he will make a nest out of a towel I leave on the floor or he will lay on the furniture. Look around and watch how your Coton sleeps before you commit.

Well we have a wide variety of beds, pillows and little dens for them...but; they both end up on our bed. I believe that is always their choice...(sleep w/their pack....) Good luck.
