Does the Coton de Tulear like to swim?

by Kathy

I was wondering if the Coton de Tulear likes water. I thought so, but Triscuit doesn't seem to want to go in the water.

She is great with baths, but as far as going into a pond, she keeps away. Her brown Lab sister goes in and I think she would like to follow, but is very hesitant. Any thoughts?

THANKS, KATHY

Coton's and water
by: Iris Miller

Each is an individual with likes and dislikes. My dog Tuffy is like a new baby in water,in the pool clinging to me with all his might, climbing up on my shoulder and digging his nails in for dear life! He does not love a bath and would rather stay indoors if it is raining. One exception, my sister's chihuaua Sparky was chasing him around their pool and Tuffy dove into the pool, knowing the other dog would not follow. He was right, Sparky hates water!
Smart Coton huh?

Depends...
by: Jinny

If I am in the water, she is right there with me! She's a great swimmer but only when she's afraid I am leaving her!
