My sweet rescued Swiffer

Hello, this is Swiffer. I adopted him from a dog rescue center last September. His hair was totally trimmed so I'm finding only now how his look actually is... In my pictures you can see how he was and how he looks now.... he was so frightened and I think he has been abused. Now he's happy and so sweet and lovely! I'm not sure but I think he could be a Coton or a mix... Anyway he is a wonderful dog and I love him so much!

Thanks to all for your sweet words! Swiffer is so happy.. Regarding your question, Mirabella, I can say that the most important thing is to have so much patience. Love makes the rest! Swiffer was scared of everything too and actually sometimes he is still a "strange" dog... I found so precious reading this book "Calming signals" by Turid Rugaas. It helped me very much understanding his language and being understood by him. I can't give you any idea of time you will need, because every dog is a single case, I think... Anyway Cotons are wonderful dogs and you will see it.. day by day...

How long before he started coming out of his shell. I rescued a puppy mill 1 year old that is petrified of everything. I've only had her a few days but I want to do all that I can to ease her.

I agree that on the last 2 picture in the face & the stance of the butt & tail he sure has Coton features. Doesn't matter he is very handsome & family and what a wonderful thing u did in adopting. Thank u so much for sharing the before and after pictures & I hope u post more & share ur stories.
