cut hair NEW
by: Vicky & Jonah

I also assume u r talking about the hair. I keep Jonah semi trimmed & @ Times I've had to trim his tail when hair seemed to hand to long which then got dirty easier.

Never clip the tail! NEW
by: Iris

If you mean clip it, like cutting it off to a stub? Never! If you mean trimming the hair, that tail is like a quill pen feather. the Coton carries it across his back like a parasol, it is so beautiful. If some of the hairs get too long, a little trim will do,but be careful of the shape.
P.s. as they start to mature the Coton's hair texture gets more cottony and tangles easily, matting can occur and then the dog might have to be shaved to the skin if they get tight matts, so be aware and research home grooming as well as finding a reliable groom who is familiar with this rare breed.Good luck and lots of love from your new puppy.

No NEW

I'm assuming you mean the hair, not the tail itself. ☺ You don't have to cut the tail. Since I keep Beau in a puppy cut, his tail hair is trimmed, but it is still long.
