Where did you manage to obtain this adorable Coton de Tulear breed?

Luc is adorable, where did you manage to obtain this adorable breed?

It's really frustrating to find a trustworthy healthy Coton on the internet and especially local. Was Luc a rescue? Did you get Luc at a reputable breeder? Any breeders you recommend? I'd love to hear any great feedback on where others have found a happy healthy adorable Coton.

Thanks so much for your kind words about Luc and the site.

Your question is the one I get asked more than any other - where can I find a Coton de Tulear? Because this dog is so rare, there's not an easy answer - a lot depends on where you live and having good timing and patience.

I found Luc quite by accident. I wasn't looking for a Coton de Tulear. In fact, I'd never heard of the breed and I sure couldn't pronounce it. I went to a breeder for a Havanese puppy and the breeder had a Coton who just had puppies. Well, anyone who has seen a Coton puppy knows that there is nothing cuter on the planet. It was love at 1st sight and no other dog would do for me.

Unfortunately, it's not usually so easy to stumble on this breed. Here are the resources I usually refer people to:
