puppy food
by: Vicky & Jonah

Stick with the same puppy food that the breeder is using. If eventually u want to switch puppy food do it gradually by a 3 to 1 mix 1st week 2-1 2nd week 4-1 3rd week then finally New food.

Measure out recommended food for day & if you r teaching tricks pull from days food. Feed twice daily pick both times that fit in your schedule dogs like routine. Split recommended quantity in half by weight. Not until after a yr do u stop puppy food since it works w/growing bones.

Short walks 2-3 Times a day r better for puppys compared to one long one for bones to develop correctly.

To many treats will cause tummy to get full & they will not eat. Remember treats must b subtracted from food quantities so it's best to treat w/ food to get a handle of the habits your puppy will develops.

Congrats on the new addition to your family

What to feed a 6 week old Coton
by: Terry and Chloe

Congratulations on getting your new puppy. You are in for a lot of fun, laughs, kisses and snuggling. Our Chloe provides us with so much entertainment and love. I'm assuming that you are getting her from a breeder. If so, you should feed her whatever she has been on from the start. They are picky eaters. The key is to feed your puppy a brand of food that is all natural and provides the nutrients she will need to be a healthy pup. We have tried many different foods with Chloe as she is one of the picky ones. We feed her the all natural brand Canyon Creek brand and it works for Chloe as long as we don't feed her the chicken flavor. She has an allergy to chicken. I went on line and contacted some of the all natural dog food companies and asked if they provided samples to dog owners who had fussy eaters and most of them sent samples to us to try. It involves a little work but it's worth it in the end. If you know what the breeder has been feeding I would start off with that. If your little one starts to reject that food, like our Chloe did, you can always ask your vet what he/she prefers for puppies. Good luck and enjoy your new pup, I know you will.
