Snorting when barking?

by Aimee
(Doha)

When barking at something, say the doorbell for example. My coton will bark 4 times then make a loud snorting sound, then continue her barking. She has no nasal complications. Just curious does this happen to anyone else's coton?

My little girl, Rhylie, does the same thing. She barks, snorts, makes a long gurgling sound after she barks. She makes us laugh cause she is so vocal. I think her noises are the funniest thing.

Ah so sweet.
Betsy is my first coton and I am absolutely in love with the breed. She's just 6 months old and so well behaved. She makes us laugh all the time. Seems I'm not the only one who has a little comedian!

Thanks for the comments

Happy snorts NEW

Yes, my boy snorts when he happily excited. He barks, snorts, jumps, and tail is wagging 100 times a second. It all combines to make a humorous event. If I were that excited about something, I'd hurt myself, lol!

My guy snorts quite a bite when playing. Makes a lot of strange noises. Common to the breed. I love it. Even his bark at times is " different " . He has a lot of vocal range....haaaaa. Very comical. I can definitely read his mood and what he's " talking " about based on the noises. Love it :)
