Should I have the hair around the dogs anus cut short? Poop gets caught and is difficult to get out

I have two new Cotons.  8 weeks old.  When the littlest goes potty sometimes, the poop gets stuck on his hair and is difficult to get off.  Need some advice quickly.

when my little Bosco has a poop sticking to his hair I just set him in the tub and use the hand shower to clean him off, shampoo and cream rinse he is ready to rock and roll. He has his own special towels.

Also, invest in plastic forks! They work wonders for when a piece of poop is kinda dried in the hair, just kinda use a combing/flicking motion. Works like a charm!

We started having the butt area trimmed down, It's helped immensely with poop getting stuck.

A little tip, if you choose to keep it long or even if you trim and poop still gets stuck, weather permitting take your dog outside, hold their tail up and spray their bottom with a water hose with a nozzle hooked up to it. Use a setting with a bit of pressure but not the "jet" setting lol.

My cotton HATEs having poop on her butt, she is so thankful when i'm washing her behind off. She's almost to the point where she comes to me with this worried look on her face when she has poop stuck like "please help me, get it off!" lol poor thing. You can see how much happier she is after the spray down.

I cut the anal area hair short with scissors, my dog is not happy with it the first few days, he does not like the draft - and also you can get puppy butt wipes at Petsmart. I rinse them out first to make sure they don't irritate my dog's anal area from the chemicals. They are also good for wiping poop off the hair is it gets on them.
