Overly affectionate Trace?

by Eileen broader
(Saxapahaw, NC)

Trace adores his two pet labs but has a strange attraction for our black lab, Genius. Trace will approach Genius at quiet times and spend up to 5 minutes at a time licking his eyes, inside ears, nose and inside 'chops'. Genius is the pack leader and seems to like this attention but never seeks it! We wonder what's going on; the three dogs are all between 6 and 8 year.

Runny eyes
by: Diana

I adopted Lola in april of this year at North shore animal League in Long Island. She is a puppy mill rescue. WE have come a long way, she Has finally learned to trust me, she recently started playing like a dog should. I have one issue I cannot seem to resolve, she has runny eyes. I took he to the vet who practices both conventional and holistic care. He gave us some drops and said," they may or may not work'. They helped but did not resolve the problem.

She will not eat her food w/angel eyes in it. She eats the best food by Castor and Polluck organix and drinks poland spring water. I cannot imagine it is her diet. Is this a common problem with Cotons? Does anyone have this problem that may be able to shed some light on this subject. She has such a beautiful little face. This eye thing is really bugging me. I do not see eye problems on any of the downloaded pictures of other Cotons. Her eyes are beautiful - all I see is the stains that I have tried everything on. HELP if you can!! THANKS DIANA AND LOLA

Tuffy too
by: Iris Miller

Tuffy loves my adult son and gives him that same treatment, Cleans his face, eyes, ears, nose, hair, muostach and beard.I always thought he was doing this as if my son was another puppy, I never thought he might be honoring him as pack leader? I find this interesting. My son loves it and do does Tuffy. They love each other. Yuffy has not done this to anyone else. He gives kisses to other people but not the lick fest.

Affectionate Coton
by: Anonymous

My coton Ripley is also very affectionate towards other dogs. He loves to sit under my neighbours lab and lick his tongue. He also loves licking every dog and human that he meets.
