Odd Bad Dog Behavior

I have an extremely mild mannered dog who loves everyone and wouldn't hurt a fly. But he steals my dirty underwear and turns into a territorial, mean dog that growls and snaps at me. Why is this and what can I do???

Take away temptation
by: Anonymous

I agree with the previous comment that you have to take temptation away from your dog. Sometimes good dogs just can't resist when it's something they really really want. Make sure he's got a wide variety of dog toys to keep him busy so he can't get into "trouble". Also - the drop it or leave it command (can't remember which one right now) is good for when you do catch him in the act.

You're the boss! right?
by: Iris Miller

Tell your dog "NO" and put your dirty underwear in a covered laundry hamper, or better yet, the washing machine. Obviously, he wont do that if he doesn't have the temptation.Don't let your dog make a game of it. Obviously your dog wants your body scent and is marking your underwear as his territory. It must be love.
