my coton is biting.

my coton is 3 1/2 years old and for the past year he's been barking much more and showing signs of aggression. he's biting when someone goes to pet him, he nipped at my son when he was walking by. This is concerning and can't trust him when i have company. Any advice is welcome, don't know what to do.

All of the above that Vicky said but I wanted to add ... do you have a groomer? My friends dog started biting after his grooming. Also are you gone all day? Is anyone playing rough with him?

Has he been biting for a yr? Did he start this at the age of 2? Did something happen that has triggered beginning of behavior? Does anyone smack him in the face as a correction for a behavior?
