Moriarty - My New Coton de Tulear Pal

by Mitch Tuckness
(Fairfax, VA. USA)

I just got my Coton de Tulear, Moriarty last week. So far he is doing well. Next week will be his first week where I go to work. I hope the training with the kennel and treats pays off. 4 hour stints can be pretty scary for a young puppy (he is 15 weeks old, but never been left alone. I have been leaving him in his kennel a few hours a day while I am in the other room, some whining and barking but eventually it tapers down.

He is a hoot though, Just learning his obedience training basics, sit, stand, stay etc ....

Such a good breed!

Moriarty
by: Caro Rose

He is a cute boy!...My husband is home right now.good for the dog, bad for paying bills...but hopefully he will find something but I hate to leave Maxine home alone..She is 7months old a such a funny girl!..We are really enjoying her antics..and how do they find things that we can't find? Some of my husbands tools are still missing.

Toys all over the house. It looks like we have a toddler in the house.

have fun and be patient. I just met Cesar Millan..real cool guy!

Missing the Puppy Days
by: Nell

Oh... I remember those early puppy days when it was so hard to leave my dog home alone. I think it was definitely harder on me than on her. The best part about leaving is coming home to a dog who's just crazy happy to see you! Good Luck and enjoy this crazy puppy time; it seems to go by so quick.

leaving your puppy to go to work
by: Iris Miller

my point of view is in the older remarks, I had to leave Tuffy, was never told by neighbors of the constant crying and barking he did, until I moved out three months later. If I'd known he was going to be so lonely and anxious I would have found a family to baby sit him before I went back to work, because the Coton are especially social and sensitive.
Good luck,
hugs
Iris

Moriarty

Congratulations on your new puppy. Moriarty is a handsome fellow. I'm sure he'll be fine when you go back to work... it'll probably be harder for you than for him. Good Luck!!!
