Tuffy the diamond maker NEW
by: Iris

I just posted another update and photo of tuffy.
Seriously, he has had three major surgeries for his calcium oxylate bladder stones and is again diagnosed with many
Large stones stuck in his bladder, they are very painful and the Veterinarian said it is like sharp splinters sticking him, very painful. My poor boy. The Vet also said it is not dietary, it is hereditary. It will continue to reoccur. Tuffy goes in for surgery (again) tomorrow, the fourth time in two years.
Please pray with me for my dear tuffy boy.
According to our Veterinarian FYI if it were the other type of crystal stones called Struvites one surgery to remove them and they don't come back.
If only these crystals we have could make diamonds not stones, just saying .( trying to cheer myself up)

bladder stones blocks urethra NEW
by: Iris

Pleaes, pleas take your dog to a Veterinarian for an xray and bladder check. My Coton Tuffy had similar symptoms as yours. I also thought he was "marking" but it turned out his bladder was creating crystallized stones that he was try to pass with is urine. Twenty six stones were trapped in his urethra and he was having difficulty peeing, his bladder was distended from being backed up. I felt so bad not knowing my dog was suffering.i happened to receive an email from the AKC with an article that caught my eye about a woman's dog who was suddenly spotting pee on the carpets. That's what my Tuffy was doing too. I had it all wrong, thinking he must be marking his territory. I called the vet's office and my dog had surgery to push the stones back into his bladder where they could be surgically removed. I am so grateful that Tuffy survived and is healing and happy again. I love him like my child. Better safe than sorry!
