Love the baby to bits

Sky is 8 months and full of beans. She loves to jump into our arms when we return at the end of the day. She plays with three whippets who love her so much. One of the whippets is a puppy and they'mouth'all day.


I have two fluffy adult cats who love her too,although it did take a while. One of my cats rolls around with her playing in the house. It is so funny to watch them.They sleep together and it is a joy to see.

I now have a Coton with very matted hair each side of her body due to her roly polies. It now has to be shaved off! I am an ex hairdresser and barber to boot, so I have decided to take the plunge and do it myself.

I am trying to gather the right information about what clippers and blades sizes to use. Will send photo of her very soon Any advice really welcome!!!Will send photo of her very soon

If you go to cotongrooming.com on the web & connect to the Facebook page, this page is run by Bridgette Jesperson who is the one that wrote the book on Coton Grooming. She is out of Denmark & it will show Denmark on the page. It will show you how when they blow the coat how to do it by hand. Also she shows brushes & talks product.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR ADVICE AND HELP.

SKY HAS TO BE CUT VERY SHORT, THAT IS A GIVEN. I HAVE SOUGHT THE ADVICE OF 3 GROOMERS AND ALL SAY THE SAME. IT IS ILLEGAL IN THIS COUNTRY TO DE-MATT A DOG APPARENTLY. I AM HAPPY WITH THE DECISION AS SHE WILL BE MORE COMFORTABLE. I WILL THEN MAINTAIN A PUPPY CUT TO AVOID THIS AGAIN. I WAS SO PROUD OF HER COAT BUT ALL DAY ROLLING AROUND WITH WHIPPETS HAS NOT BEEN KIND TO HER LOVELY FUR.I TRY AND GET A PHOTO OF THEM TOGETHER BUT NOT THE CATS AND WHIPPETS...DIFFERENT HOUSEHOLDS, NOT A GOOD IDEA!!

Their is a Coton de Tulear book on grooming by Bridgette Jesperson (not sure spelling of name) but you could Google it or Amazon carrys it.

Not sure the info is in their but u could read reviews & or find it at a book store to see if the info your looking for is their b4 purchase. It is pretty pricey.

I could not begin to give you much advice on trimming since you are a hairdresser but want to say what fun you must have at your house. Lots of fur and love going on there.

Congrats on your new baby and anxious to see him, whippets and cats. Would a group pic be possible???? lol I have trouble just getting my two to stay still and look at the camera.

Anyway would love to see it and enjoy your furry household.

One tip I can give you is when baby hair comes out around 8-9 months matting becomes a really big problem. Ii might be easier thru all that time to keep hair trimmed really short and brushed daily. I didn't and had to have mine shaved down. Good Luck.
