Is our Bailey a Coton de Tulear??

by Nicole Auger
(West Covina, CA)

My husband and I were blessed to have our Bailey show up on our doorstep one day. While we searched for his family, we fell in love with him and he's been with us ever since.

He is extremely playful, follows us on our heels, always wants to sit or sleep on our laps and gives kisses constantly. He has major separation anxiety problems, to the extent of not being able to be in a room alone, let alone home alone.

I thought he may be a Cockapoo, especially with his one light brown ear, but I've never been able to pinpoint his breed exactly...until I came across the Cotons.

The only thing about Bailey that makes me think he may not be, is that his nose is mostly brown with black around the edges (almost like he rubbed the black off).

What are your thoughts?

Bailey is a Coton
by: Anonymous

Bailey sure looks - and acts - like a tri-colour Coton!! As they grow up, the lose most of their colour, but not all. My puppy's hair is curly like his when it's short and is kind of squiggly when it gets long until I blow dry it.

Cotons are famous for their kissing and dancing on their hind legs. Hope you had the vet check for a tattoo or microchip, since most Cotons are chipped before they leave their first homes.

Bailey
by: Pamela

What a cutie. Bailey looks like a Coton, but looks like my Maltese Poodle mix too. Bailey's hair seems curly like my Trinket. I also have a Coton de Tulear.

I am glad Bailey found you. Its nice to know Bai will be loved and spoiled.

We're the lucky ones!
by: Nicole Auger

Thanks for your responses! I have to say that my husband and I are the lucky ones. Bailey is such a sorce of joy and many laughs at his silliness. He "dances" or twirls on his hind legs when you hold his ball and is quite a talker.

We love this little man, regardless of his breed but I am glad to know that there are others out there like him. If the others are anything like him, I'm sure there are many families that have the same love for their babies that we do.

lucky dog

Another lucky dog for being found and adopted by a loving family, both lucky to have each other. It is heartwarming.

Bailey

Bailey sure looks like a Coton to me. As far as the nose goes - some Cotons can lose some of the black pigment on their nose. This happened to Luc a couple of years ago and the Vet said there was nothing I could do. But, one day his big beautiful nose turned black again.

Anyway, Bailey is adorable and very lucky to have found a good home.
