Is my Coton de Tulear okay?

by Leigh
(Salt Lake, Utah)

I got my Coton de Tulear two months ago from a friend of mine. She was fairly skinny when we got her. She had just gone through a rough few weeks before we got her. Just recently I noticed that she was gaining weight on her stomach but not anywhere else.

How do I know what a good weight is for her? Was she at a good weight when we got her, or now? We are exercising her daily so she doesn't get overweight. We also haven't gotten her spayed yet. Could she be pregnant? Thank you for making this website!! I love it!

vet is needed
by: SHERRY-COTTON

we totally agree, please get her checked asap. It is great that you have taken her and hope she will check out to be fine. sometimes they appear bloated in their tummy when they have alot of worms. that is easily taken care of. keep us informed and we wish her the best.

coton's without a doubt are the very best. i cannot believe how my little girl has totally stolen my heart. they are so entertaining and give so much love. not to mention how beautiful they are.

good luck!!!

Vet please
by: Iris Miller

This sounds like a Veterinarian visit is imperative. Good luck, and thank you for rescuing her from your friend.
Hope all is well now.

Vet just in case
by: Dee

I know how you feel. In the begining i had the same concerns, even to the day worry about his weight and eating habits (what do you expect im an Italian Mom).

I agree with the others, even if its nothing, have the cutie pie checked out. It would ease your concern and if there is anything, you'll catch it early so correct it ASAP.

Please keep us posted! Good Luck. (They really are the best doggies and companions... Spanky is a dream boat!)

Vet visit
by: Anonymous

I would suggest getting her checked out by your vet sooner rather than later.
