How much does a Coton de Tulear rescue dog cost?

by Jean
(USA)

I currently have a 1 year old Schnese female all white but am thinking of getting her a playmate. I guess I would need to know how much a Coton de Tulear rescue would cost. I know Cotons are very expensive and don't have a lot of money to purchase one.

I just have to say be very careful when buying a coton. When we were looking for one we ran into a lot of scams. So be very sure when you buy a coton that it is from trustworthy people. They are great dogs. I would love to have another one myself.

Coton Rescue Costs
by: Gale

The cost would depend on where you're obtaining your Coton.

Most rescues are usually all-volunteer organizations and survive on donations and small adoption fees. But you have to also consider possible additional costs associated with traveling to pick up the dog if necessary, providing veterinary care, vaccinations, having it spayed or neutered, and providing any necessary training. Of course, getting an older dog would cut down on some of these costs.

Also, unless you know how to groom yourself, the Coton requires professional grooming (usually monthly) that's approx. $40 to $60 depending on where you live.

Ucare (http://www.cotonrescue.us/) is the official Coton rescue organization and a great resource for any specific questions you may have.

I must say, I've never heard of a Schnese. But then again, most people have never heard of the Coton :)

Good luck on your search!!
