thanks for the suggestions. what i have been doing is feeding her 1/4 cup of bil jac w/ 3/4 cup of water at breakfast and dinner.

we take lots of walks and she wont drink when we come in so i have started holding ice cubes and she licks them!

called the vet yesterday after i posted and she suggested adding pedialyte to her water!!!

will try all of your "tips" this week!!!!

thanks again

Drinking Water

You might want to flavor the water with some chicken broth to make it more enticing.

Water

I give my boys filtered water from the frig along with tap water in different bowls - so they have a choice. I also change the water frequently during the day - so that it's always fresh. Good Luck. I don't believe the boys drink when we're gone. When we get home - JR usually drinks then goes outside.

Water

My 4 month old doesn't drink a lot of water either. I also worry about it. This morning he didn't have any but usually when he runs and plays he winds up going to the water and drinking a lot at once. I just wish he drank it more regularly (we also give him botled water).

my two female cotons, 8 yrs. old, drink tap water BUT they do require clean water daily. I have it in three places in the house....spoiled? oh yeah.

and at night, my husband gives them water from a paper cup. both pups sleep with us. hahaha.

You might try changing the bowl. My Coton didn't like shiny, reflective containers for a while. (shrug) but she drank from her plastic bowl just fine. And the bottled water is worth trying also.

Our coton likes the water from the BIG dogs bowl ever so much better than his! Get a German Shepherd!!

Water Drinkers......bottled?
by: Deborah Preece -Fl

It may be a change in the water that has your Coton "off" water. We were told by our breeder to only give ours (two boys --half brothers) bottled water. We don't give them tap water at all.
