Fleas and parasite protection: what do you think is the best protective method?

by Sevi
(Geneva,Switzerland)

Our Coton de Tulear puppy, Tyche, is wearing an antiparasite collar provided to us by the breeder.
I would like to know what you are using for your dogs, the ambules or the collars for their protection over fleas and parasites?

flea and tick medicine and grooming
by: Carol

Hi.my vet put Maxine on a new product and for the life of me I can't recall what it is..but I will bring write it down and send tomorrow. It is new, and less expensive and supposedly better than Frontline.

A couple of days ago someone sent some info about grooming..tips on what to tell your groomer if you want a puppy cut..and now i can't find it.

if anyone has information on puppy cuts (argh I hate to do it..but the grooming bills will become hefty with the mats..which i try to get out as I am just getting Maxine used to being brushed.

thanks!

Comfortis
by: Diane Bennett

Hi- I have a 6 year old Coton. And he has been on Comfortis now for 3 years. Its a once a month pill that is organic and it fights fleas like you would never believe. It starts working within 30 minutes and continues to work the full month with no fear of it coming off when you bath your best friend or they get wet in the rain. It says on the box that it doesn't fight ticks but Jovi has never had a tick since he has been on it- neither have any of my friends dogs that are on it. I like it because its an organic all natural product that WORKS!! I have tried all the topicals from frontline to advantage ( he had an allergic reaction to ) and they always stopped working before the month was up. I work at a vets office in Florida and we are turning everyone to Comfortis to fight fleas.

Parasite protection
by: Katherine

Murphy is only 8 months old but has been using Sentinel with no adverse effects and no signs of any type crawly things! Of course, it's been winter time and he hasn't been outside much. This was recommended by his vet. We shall see how well it works this summer!
