Eddie the pound dog

I belong to a dog rescue and I was sent to the local pound to pick up Eddie before he was put to death. I was to foster him also.Well, when Eddie came home with me and met my IG's etc he was so wonderful! He wanted to play and have fun. I was told he was a :poodle mix. What ever he was he was MINE. I flat out told them he was adopted my ME. Eddie was a delight! He was so affectionate and loving and he seemed to have decided I was his companion for LIFE. He adopted me! I kept enquireing what was in the poodle mix and they gave me all sorts of names and I looked the pictures up and No, not Eddie...His coat was a mess from being deserted in the pound and I had him groomed and they groomed him to look like a Westie. I took him to the vet after his groom to get shots etc...and I love my vet. But, I asked her what was mixed with the poodle and she said "I don't know" maybe and she said another name. So, Eddie just remained my sweet adorable one year old poodle mix.

I was half asleep and Dogs101 was blaring on the TV and they were talking about a small white dog from madagascar and described Eddies personality to a T. I opened my eyes just long enough to catch a glimse and it was EDDIE before grooming! I went to the computer to see if I could find a picture. I had doubts because Eddie had some brown on his long ears and he had a brown muzzle...but otherwise he was pure white and had such human-like big warmbrouwn eyes and a black nose. And a tail tht went up and over a bit. I said: Eddie is a Coton De Tolear! That is why no one knows what the is! I am sure this is what he is accept he has some brown on him...

But how did such a rare year old dog end up in my small town dog pound on the euthanasia list? So, I have some doubts...I mean, this dog is very rare...but so is an IG and when I first came here to Prescott AZ I was one of only 2 people who owned one or more but I would absolutely NEVER have given my dogs up or put them in the pound. So, Eddie has come home to me and he is simply the most wonderful lovign friendly dog TO ME. He doesn't run up to strangers. He stands back and barks and he has put himself between me and the person who came in. Don't know if Coton's protective..but Eddie is getting less fearful of new peopel who come in.
But I must tell you, when I was taking Eddie to the vet he really objected to being put in the car. He didn't want to get in the car. He was so afraid. He cowerd in my lap all the way there and back but as soon as he walked in the front door and saw he was home he danced with joy..now you can't keep him out of the car. he wants to be with me all the time.

I was wondering..how does a groomer shave a Colon so they don't look like a poodle or a Westie...? He is so wonderful. I just loved him from the moment he came into my life.

Eddie the pound dog

I belong to a local Rescue and they asked me to pick up some dogs in our pound who were on the euthanasia list. I was able to get two, One Bassett who was blind and Eddie. They told me Eddie was a Poodle Mix. I brought eddie home to foster him. He was such a delight. He was a year old and white accept he had some brown on his muzzle and just a bit on the strangest ears I had ever seen. I asked everyone what he could be mixed with and every one gave me some other name and i would look them up and it was certanly not Eddie. I asked the vet and she didn't know...then the horrible day came when the rescue told me they were coming to take Eddie from me. But, without hesitation simply "NO!"

Eddier is a spectacular dog! He is wonderful! I just cannot figure out how his owner could put him in the POUND!My God his personality is SO loving and dhe is SO playful and he is so attached to me! My Eddie will actually go between me and a stranger and he barks! I have had to help him understand that strangers are ok...have no idea what his home was like before but he iss a treasure!

I have othr dogs, Italian Greyhounds and boy they play and play and play! But, Eddie is my dog. This dog never wants to be away from me. He is so close to me I have to take him with me when I go to the store. Ok now ...but not ok in the winter or summer...Eddie doesnt even need a leash..he walks with me...or runs a few feet here and there but the moment I call he is at my side. HE IS THE SMARTEST DOG I HAVE EVRER HAD.

I found out what he was..or at least mixed with...don't know it that is true or not...because I was watching Dogs 101 and sort of snoozing..then I heard them talk about a small white dog..I opened my eyes and THAT WAS EDDIE. BY GOD THAT WAS EDDIE! His coat was shaved but THAT was Eddie...so I decided to look the breed up and indeed, theey can have some tan or brown on them...and aI measured him and he was exactly the right size and weight and his personality was almost like described to a T!

Now, I understand why no one knew what kind of dog he is. But one thing for sure he is MY dog!
