Dog is eating poop - help!

Max is six months old and started eating our other dog's poop. He doesn't ever eat his own. HELP this is disgusting. I can't find anything to do so he doesn't eat our collie's feces. Any ideas?

eatting poop
by: Anonymous

I have caught my dog on a few occassions eatting rabbit poop. I am assuming it is not terribly bad for him but when I am out cleaning up his mess I try and look for rabbit droppings and clean them up as well however it is a lot more difficult to scoop rabbit poop.

More on Max's dietary no no
by: Anonymous

more on Max--yes, I do clean up the yard-constantly! He runs after her and gets it before I can run across the yard. I have tried pineapple and he said yum! I really appreciate all your comments!

Cesar Milan - The Dog Whisper

Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisper) uses Pineapple. apparently when digested it makes their poop smell unappealing. (but i would ask the vet, you never know...)

pick it up?
by: Iris Miller

I would pick up the poop as soon as the dog goes, don't leave it around for your other dog to eat it. he probably smells the undigested food in the feces. Try to catch him putting bad things in his mouth and tell him NO! then and take him away from it.
An important reason for not leaving dog droppings around, flies will lay eggs in it and maggots will develop. My sister had a dog who was eaten and killed by maggots!!! The dog stayed mostly out in the yard, she was a long haired collie, and it was not noticed until she acted sick, they took her to the Vet, it was too late. A very sweet dear dog had to be put down.
Please clean up the poop.
blessings,
Iris and Tuffy
