nail biting dog

Gemma, are your dog's nails trimmed? I used to have a dog that bit her nails if they were too long. Once I started trimming them regularly she stopped biting them.

Dog Biting Paws...
by: Marianne

My Coton, Gemma also bites...but she bites her nails...I don't know how to get her to stop...the vet told me it is like anyone else that bites their nails...just a habit. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her to stop that?

Itchy Paws
by: Gale

There are so many reasons why your dog can be biting his paws. Fleas or allergies are the most common reasons. You can learn more about some solutions here

Also, because my dog has pretty severe allergies and he bites his paws frequently at times, I recently discovered that dabbing a cotton ball with Listerine and applying to the paw can help relieve itching.

Also, after bathing your dog, you can rinse with a baking soda and water solution to help soothe your dog's skin.

I got both of these suggestions from nzymes.com and they seem to really provide relief for my dog Luc.

Good Luck!!
