Coton de Tulear, Lover boy

by Shirley
(mpls mn)

I rescued my Coton de Tulear from a nut..he was 10 months old and I feel he was never out of the cage...he loves me and me only but doesn't really like any other people...

I have had him for 6 months now and he will sorta go to my husband but its mostly just me and I guess I am happy with it this way...our dog who died only liked my husband...she was female....I luv my Coton. I was happy to see another black/gray one too.

I also adopted a Coton @ 10 months old. We have had him 6 month now, too and live in the Twin Cities! What a coincidence!

We have a similar issue...Our Coton loves me, likes my husband, but will not go to anyone else. We have children and he avoids them relentlessly. It's sad. He was raised by 2 adults without kids, so I believe that's the reason for his being timid around my kids. I wonder if he is just this way - Is this a Coton trait? Still hoping to still easy him into our "pack" and have him learn to trust our children. Any insight on this?
