Bladder stone followup

Just wanted to let you all know that LeXi is now free of her large bladder stone I repoted four months ago. She went on Royal Canin O/S urinary dog food and the new x-Ray showed the stone is gone and her urination is normal. We are so relieved and even though the food is a little pricey, it was worth every penny. It is by prescription only.

One further comment on these bladder stones is to note how common they are in small dogs. While we were going through this with LeXi, two friends with their small dogs had the same problem and one had surgery and the other had to be put down because there were so many stones that there was nothing that could be done. The other dogs were both males and it is more difficult to treat in males. Watch for excessive urination, straining and bloody color. The problem is common and very expensive. Get on top of it before it becomes critical. Happy Cotons!
