Black nose turning brown??

It's end of October here in New England and I just noticed today that my boy's usual slick black nose is starting to turn a bit brown in the middle. I have head of 'Snow Nose' in dogs but is this common really in Coton's and this early in the cool season? He is only 15 months old and doesn't drink from plastic. Thanks! Elena

Sometimes the nose can turn brown if they have been eating out of plastic bowls, not stainless steel or ceramic.

I haven't researched this to verify but I remember reading that loss of nose pigment could be due to lack of sun exposure.

I noticed the same thing. We have only had Pooch for about 8 months, but she was five when we got her, so I thought the black nose turning to brown was due to age. We live in Belmont MA, and it hasn't been that cold here yet, so I would love to learn the true cause of this.
